Letters in Response to the Previous Article At St. Augustine's Church in Marpole for over 12 years meals have been provided for the community, first under Aunt Leah's, then when they moved to another space, the Eburne Outreach Society was formed to cater the meals. ... While the people of Holy Trinity Cathedral were very impressed with the extent of diocesan concern with those in need throughout our diocese, they were disappointed to see their efforts over many years omitted. ... I have been reading the March, 2004 edition of TOPIC and, in the article "Parishes Feed Thousands" it states that "The housing programs associated with St. James provide another 112 beds.". When I came to St. James in 1992 it was said that St. James was the best kept secret in the Downtown Eastside.   read more...
